Emma Burton
Chair & Welfare Officer
I have been involved with youth football for the past twelve years, having followed my children from club to club, but for the last five years I have found myself settled at Alderbury FC where I am Club Secretary and Child Welfare Officer.
Football has become a part of my daily life and I never expected to find myself volunteering to become Chairperson for a league but having seen the passion from the other members of the committee, team managers, volunteers and the players of the SWMSL, I felt I needed to be involved to help promote local youth football, as I know all to well how the travelling can take up a majority of the day when your children commit to a team.Â
This year I received the Wiltshire FA’s award for excellence to safeguarding, which was a pleasure to receive, it is so important that our players have a safe environment to play and the England Football Respect campaign is one close to my heart, which in turn allows players to have positive experiences on and off the pitch, which I hope helps build their confidence for the future.
I am very much a team player and I like to think I am approachable, so if you ever have any questions, comments or ideas regarding the league then please feel free to contact me.
